Dean Obeidallah’s Defamation Lawsuit

In June of 2017, Andrew Anglin published an article on the Daily Stormer where he falsely accused Dean Obeidallah, a Muslim-American comedian, of being the “mastermind” behind the Manchester bombing- a terrorist act committed during an Ariana Grande concert.

According to reports from NBC News, after the article was published, Obeidallah started to receive death threats and photoshopped tweets about the terrorist attack that were made to look like they came from his account.

Is Andrew Anglin on the Run?

Andrew Anglin did not respond to Obeidallah’s libel lawsuit, and his whereabouts have been unclear, although he claims to live outside of the United States due to death threats he has received, according to NBC News.

This is not the only case Andrew Anglin is currently involved in though. NBC News also reported that he is currently facing four federal cases, all with the possibility of receiving default judgements. Two of the lawsuits also stem from victims of online harassment campaigns his site hosts.

Dean Obeidallah’s Speaks to NBC News

Obeidallah praised the ruling in his defamation lawsuit, with the comedian warning potential defamers, “That you’re going to be held accountable in our court system if you try to smear people, and try to destroy their reputation because they speak out against your hateful ideology”, according to NBC News.
